Agave Americana mariginata is an evergreen, flowering, succulent, stemless, perennial shrub with a large, open rosette. Grows 2.2, 5m tall with a spread of 3-4m or more. Growth is slow initially, increasing as the root system becomes established.
Flowers are greenish-yellow. Once flowering, the main flower stalk. with a diameter of up to 10cm, grows at a rate of 15-35cm per day to eventually reach 8m. The stalk has been noted as reaching 15m in its native habitat.
