Cycad revolurus is an evergreen, erect, perennial cycad, resembling a small single-stemmed plant tree with a terminal crown with large, spreading leaves, occasionally branching. A gymnosperm grows 2-3m tall with a 1-5.2m spread and a stem diameter of up to 30cm. Very slow growing even in ideal conditions, at a rate of 3cm height p/a.
Leaves are glossy, dark green with a lighter underside pinnate, two-ranked, 0.60- 1.5m long, with a lighter coloured tormentors midrib divided into 100-200, narrow, linear landscape, 10-20cm long by 6mm wide pinnae that are rolled down at the margin. Leaves are stiff, leathery and sharp terminal tips.
