Malvaviscus arboreus

A rounded shrub with erect, spreading branches. Leaves are attractive, dark, green ovate with coarse teeth towards the apex. Flowers are bright red and don not open completely, petals remain twisted. Flowers appear throughout the year. Fruits are 5 –celled capsules. Makes an attractive accent or specimen.
