Acacia Farnesiana is a small, upright, slow-growing tree with multiple trunks and a spreading round crown, Branches are thorny. Leaves are small, bipinnate, feathery, bright green, up to 10cm long. Flowers are bright yellow, very sweet, scented, in globose heads appearing in spring. The fruit is a cylindrical pod with pointed ends.
A very tough plant usually grows 4m tall however may grow 6-8m tall with a 10m spread and a trunk diameter of 20-30cm. Noted as reaching 15m tall with a 10m spread in its native habitat. Medium growth rate. It is used for its flower display and feathery leaves.
