Cassia Javanica subsp. Nodosa is a deciduous, flowering, umbrella-shaped, broad spreading, medium perennial tree, Grown 9-15m tall, with a similar spread and a 30cm trunk diameter. Leaves are large, pinnate, with elliptical oblong leaflets, bright green on the upper side, paler below.
Flowers appearing from mid-autumn through mid-summer are short-lived, pale pink to red, borne in large dense lateral racemes. Fruits are long, dark brown cylindrical pods. Javanica is planted as a shade and ornamental tree on streets and in parks.
