Punica Granatum is an evergreen to semi-evergreen, flowering, multi-stemmed, open canopies, large perennial shrub or small tree. Generally a bit straggly in appearance. Usually, multi-stemmed having a slender branching structure with the branches starting off erect, then developing a drooping form. A tough plant. Grows 3.5-6m tall with a 3.5-6m tall with a 3-5m spread and a trunk diameter of 5-705cm at thirty years.
Noted as reaching 10m tall in its native habitat. Slow to medium growth at a rate of 20-50cm p/a. Usually lives 30 to 50 years in the AP, however, some specimens are noted to have grown to 200 years old and having a 30cm trunk. Flowers are showy. Fruits are a berry brown-yellow to red.
