Hibiscus rosa sinensis

A very attractive, shapely shrub with erect and spreading branches. Leaves are oval and pointed, coarsely serrated, deep green. Flowers are large and long stocked with a prominent central spike of stamens and pistil, yellow, orange, pink, red, purple or white either or single or double, short-lived, appearing throughout the year. Fruits are 5-celled capsules rarely produced in the Arab gulf. It is also known as Hibiscus sinensis or Hibiscus chinensis.
